GPS signal

The GPS Global Positioning System of the US Department of Defense, consists of 24 satellites revolving around the earth at an altitude of approximately 20'000 km. GPS receivers use the satellite signals to determine their exact location and altitude on earth. GPS satellites also transmit accurate time and date information, which is being used by the GPS Time System.

Technical Data

TELECOR GPS current interrupters deliver accurate ON/OFF switching for close interval potential surveys. Time synchronization is automatic. Surveys are thus free of concern about timer synchronization. Savings are obtained before and during field work, since human interventions for timer verification are eliminated.

Equipment :

TELECOR GPS consists of the following equipment :

• TELECOR main unit, with compact satellite antenna.
• Power supply for 110-240V AC or 12 - 24 V DC.
• On request : power relays, DC or AC, mechanical or solid state.

GPS Receiver:
Separate Receiver in Weatherproof box (IP65), 5 x 5 x 4 cm, with Corner Plate for Installation.
Connection by 4-Wire Cable, Length 5 Meter.

Remote Control via GSM :
On request, TELECOR may be equipped with a GSM remote control receiver,
allowing to activate or inactivate the ON/OFF operation.

Power Input :
110-240V AC or 12 - 24 V DC power. Approximately 4 watt.

Output :
ON/OFF signal, 12 - 24 V DC, max. 0.5A.

Display :

LCD display :		Local time / GPS receiver status. Universal time (Greenwich meantime).

Programming :

ON/OFF intervals are programmable by menu. The program remains in memory even when power is disconnected.

ON/OFF intervals are programmable in minutes (for example 1 minute OFF and 4 minutes ON), in seconds (for example 1 s. OFF and 4 s. ON), or fractions of a second (for example 0.2 s. OFF and 1.8 s. ON).

When desired, the ON/OFF switching may be programmed to stop automatically after working hours, using the "Working hours" and "Working days" programs.

Accuracy :
The absolute accuracy is 10 ms in good GPS receiving conditions. GPS time is received once a second. If GPS reception were to fail momentarily, the timer continues operating on the internal quartz time base until GPS time is available again.

Operating Temperatures :
-25 to +55 degrees centigrade.

Casing :
ABS, IP65, dimensions 200 x 150 x 75 mm. (8 x 6 x 3 inches).

Casing "All-in-One" :
As an option, TELECOR is also available with a larger casing, which also includes the power supply module and the relay.
